It is one of the cold hardiest palms. After transplanting, water well until established. Avoid damaging lower trunk and roots. It is usually not grown indoors. Things to Watch For Insect pests include giant palm weevil, cabbage palm caterpillar and scales. The Cabbage Palm is vulnerable to ganoderma butt rot which enters through trunk and root injuries.
