A fast growing, deciduous conifer with bright green spring foliage that turns golden brown in fall. Bare branches in winter. Very straight trunk, buttressed at the base. Pale, brown, shedding bark. Full to part sun. Wet to swampy site, but also tolerates deep, moist, acid, sandy loam. Can grow to 60ft or more.

Scarification: Soak in ethyl alcohol and let stand for 5 minutes
Stratification: Cold stratify for 90 days.
