The Nordmann Fir has very dark green needles and dark bark. It has horizontal branching and a dense habit. It is often used as a Christmas tree in Europe and can be grown in a container for several years. Good as a boundary and screen tree or as a specimen in a lawn.
When choosing a location, keep in mind that the Nordmann Fir has a moderate growth rate. It usually grows up to 65 feet in height and 25 feet in spread. Ensure this tree has plentiful growing room. It can be planted in zones 4 to 7. Prefers full to part sun and moist, neutral to acidic soil.
