The Tea Crab is a very striking upright tree with a pronounced vase-like habit. Small red to yellow fruit and pink to white, scented flowers. The deep green leaves are toothed. Makes a good patio, border or street tree.
When choosing a location, keep in mind that the tea crab has a moderate growth rate. Grows up to 50 feet in height and 25 feet in spread. It can be planted in zones 4 to 8. Prefers moist, well-drained soil and full sun.

Scarification: Soak in water, let stand in water for 24 hours
Stratification: Cold stratify for 60-120 days
Germination: Sow seed 1/8 inch deep , tamp the soil, mulch the seed bed
Other: Can be sown outdoors in the fall for spring germination
